These are 6-string lap steels and come tuned to:
OPEN E
or OPEN G
with strings.
They can be strung and tuned to many other slide tunings at your place. :)
The forward pickup position what gives our steels their robust, rich, bluesy voice - and is part of the design.
Scale length on Buddy Boy steels is 23”, with an overall length around 35” long.

Who DIS?
It’s me, Scott, from Birdsong Guitars and Scott Signature instruments, and… so much more. THIS is what those lap steel guitars I’ve been messing around with making on the side for the past, oh, 16 years or so are turning into!
With Birdsong making safely in the hands of Birdsong Head Luthier Jake Goede in Texas, and my own journey north to the Adirondacks… which led me to a sweet 1876 homestead with an old barn and little workshop out by the road… I’m doing the steels for reals!
